Out of an abundance of caution, the Caucus Council will again hold its Fall Town Hall via Zoom. Last year, more than 500 Winnetka residents attended, and once again, every resident is encouraged to attend.

The agenda includes votes on:

  • The Caucus-endorsed candidates - fellow residents who applied, were vetted and slated by the committees representing Winnetka's four governing bodies. This year, hear from the candidates for Village Council, as well as their surrogates. The candidates approved at the Town Meeting will stand for election in the municipal election to be held June 28, 2022.

  • The platforms resulting from the 2021 Caucus Survey. The key issues of interest to Winnetka's residents and eventually to the four governing boards.

  • A proposed rule change to extend the maximum term on the Council from three years to four years. The proposed change is meant to enable a smoother transition from one year’s Caucus leadership to the next, and to enable more participation on the Caucus Council.

Here's how it works:

  1. You must be a resident of Winnetka or pay taxes to the governing body upon whose issues you want to vote (Village of Winnetka, Northfield-Winnetka Public Library District, Winnetka Parks District, District 36)

  2. You must register with the Winnetka Caucus to be able to attend the virtual Town Hall.

  3. Each person in a household must register separately to be able to attend and vote.

  4. While anyone who registers can attend, you must be of voting age in the State of Illinois to be able to vote.

  5. Once registered, you will receive further instructions and a Zoom link with which to access the meeting.

  6. The night of the meeting, you will enter with your Zoom log-in, be placed in a waiting room to be verified as registered, then be let into the meeting.
